A Note From Michelle 7-20-24

July 20, 2024

Hi Everyone,

As we enter the end of July, I am looking forward to the rest of the summer. As my kids get older, I'm noticing our lives getting busier. I used to fill our summer with relaxing and fun days at home, trips to the library, visits to the park, and all of the local activities and events we could attend. It was a time of living our best life enjoying more laid back times and filling our schedule with as much as we wanted to. Almost everything we did was optional and we relied on the Macaroni KID calendar A LOT! This summer is different.

Now that the kids are older, we have collectively been able to all volunteer behind the scenes at our Church to prepare and make things for Vacation Bible School. We have spend many hours together working to make the week of VBS an exciting and wonderful experience for many kids. I'm really enjoying watching them volunteer and grow in that way this summer. We have helped over the years, but this year it just feels a little different as they are both fully invested as volunteers since they are too old to be campers.

My youngest is about to head off to her second week of camp this summer and it's a sleep away camp. There are definitely mixed emotions as she heads on to this adventure. I know she will have a blast, but I cannot belive how fast she is growing up. My oldest has volunteered to be a part of some other various school related things and I'm shuttling him around to and from his commitments. And of course all of this while juggling work and my own responsibilities.

This summer is one where I can see things changing. We have more set commitments and less events we decide to just drop by and check out. There is still plenty more summer left and I'm hoping looking forward to a little time with less commitments and more fun on a whim. Enjoy these summer memories regardless of what stage of life your family is in. They are all memories to cherish.

Have a great week!
Michelle
